Everyone is worried about rising oil prices, global climate change, and the uncertain future which our children face. Cuba faced its own 'Peak Oil' crisis in the 1990's. Ordinary Birmingham residents are collaborating as 'Transition City Birmingham' to find practical solutions to challenges like these. Roberto Perez will discuss how the people of Cuba have achieved the remarkable transition to the "highest level of sustainable development" in the world (WWF 2006).

Entrance to each event is by donation - suggested minimum £3/£1 - to cover costs.

Roberto Perez says, "It is the focus on the three C’s - Community, Conservation and Cooperation that has been the key to Cuba’s survival during this crisis. Change and sacrifice has been based on what is good for the community and not based solely on needs of individuals."
