Ronald A. Gray, 42, was convicted in connection with a spree of four murders and eight rapes in the Fayetteville, N.C., area between April 1986 and January 1987 while he was stationed at Fort Bragg. He has been on death row at the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., since April 1988.

Gray's warrent of execution approved by GW Bush today is the first such US presidential assent since Dwight Eisenhower signed such an order in 1957 that execution occured 4 years later in 1961 during the Presidency of J.F. Kennedy.
Eisenhower was the first president to be born in Texas, it's all to easy to forget GW Bush was born in Connecticut. The only other Texan president was L.B. Johnson. So it's not really a Texan issue.
But it is one of quite incredible hypocrisy is it not?
