GAZA, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Israeli army troops backed by tanks and attack helicopters stormed on Thursday morning the village of Abbas southeast of the Gaza Strip, Hamas security sources and witnesses said.
Farmers in the village said Israeli army bulldozers razed their farms cultivated with olive trees amid intensive gunfire and armed clashes with several militant groups.
(Who were attempting to stop this from happening.)
They said the bulldozers demolished a two-store house in the village east of the town of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Hamas movement's armed wing al-Qassam Brigades said in several leaflets sent to reporters that its militants attacked the Israeli army force with missiles and grenades.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
The Israeli armed forces often storm areas close to the border between Gaza Strip and Israel to prevent Gaza militants from launching homemade rockets at southern Israel.
(Rockets Israel's own defence staff warned its illegal Collective Punishment of Gaza would provoke have provided a great cover for Israel's rejection of peace, increas in premeditated aggression, expansionism, and the focused destruction of Gaza's agricultural sector.)
