20,000 Birmingham council workers to strike

UNISON has branded the structure discriminatory. Though it was designed to end wage inequalities, some workers will lose up to half their pay.
The strike will be on 23 and 24 April. Around 20,000 council workers took part in the last strike, on 5 February.
Despite the fact that all councils are implementing single status reviews, and strikes have already occured in Glasgow and Argyll and Bute Councils - with many more disputes brewing, UNISON is leaving individual branches to all fight alone.
