Rabbi stabbed in Germany

In Frankfurt the hunt continues for an Arabic speaking suspect in an antisemitic attack against a Rabbi last Friday. The 42 year old, popular local spiritual leader was recognisable by his distinctive clothes. He was approched by man who was heard to shout by others nearby, "Dirty Jew. I'll kill you." and then stabbed in the stomach. Local people rushed to the Rabbis aid and a young Turkish women helped stopped the bleeding before an ambulance arrived.
Although police have issued an identikit picture of the attacker who was said to be around 20 to 30 based on witness evidence, they had no leads yet, according to a spokesperson on Monday.
Anti Facist groups in Frankfurt have long been reporting a rise in attacks on Jews but this was the first stabbing in nearly nine months, when the prosecutions spokesperosn was asked for a comment by community representive Dieter Hass she said,
"It was people just happening to meet on a street, However the attack was anti-Semitic in character. The suspect initiated the encounter and there was an argument between the men. "
Inter-faith groups in Franfurt condemned the attack as "attempted murder" and called for vigilance against anti-Semitism which is a growing problem. Police representives in a letter to a local anti Facist organisation said that security for Jewish institutions in Frankfurt would remain the same. Most Jewish facilities have police guards outside to prevent attacks by Muslim teenagers, a known problem in the city.
