Direct Action in Nottingham this Spring

Dubbed 'Fossil Fools Day', International climate change campaign group Rising Tide called for the day of action on April 1st, to bring to account those continuing to shepherd communities closer to the dangers of severe climatic changes.
"The only real solution to climate change is to keep fossil fuels in the ground. From coal-mining clowns to carbon-offsetting contortionists, we are going to turn the tables and show them who the real fools are" (from www.risingtide.org.uk).
Residents of Nottingham were as yet undecided as to what would be the most effective way of directly tackling carbon emissions, but several options are on the table. Further discussions will take place on March 4th, four weeks before the national day of action.
One woman said "People are realising that time is too short, and that it is now up to grassroots communities to start taking the actions needed themselves. Lets start an unignorable movement for action on climate change in Nottingham."
>The next meeting takes place on Tuesday March 4th, beginning at 7pm. Bring your dinner with you!
