Friday 15th of February: Day of Active Outreach...
By this we don't mean just the usual dull petitions and leafleting. Instead we are going to see an exciting myriad of activities, both participative and engaging. At 1PM we are having an EXTREME WEATHER FLASHMOB, where we ask everyone to CONVERGE ON MARKET SQUARE WHEN THE CLOCK STRIKES ONE bringing an UMBRELLA and any other extreme weather costumes you fancy.
Having made an impact it is then planned to see a variety of actions, theatre pieces, and outreach taking place around market square. Everyone is very welcome to bring their own things along, be it a piece of participatory art or street theatre. We also encourage any actions against climate criminals that day, to raise the profile of the role of direct action in our fight against climate change.
You are more than welcome to just turn up in Market Square at 1pm and do your thing, but if you want to coordinate with us or want anymore information then you can contact us on process@studentclimateproject.org.uk and we'd love to hear from you.
Saturday 16th of February: Climate Changes: What Next?
This day is taking the form of a particpatory conference and is primarily organised by the Cambridge Climate Coalition. The Student Climate Project will be contributed to the sessions, and are putting together a special workshop on Arts Activism. While this day is primarily targeted at Cambridge students, others are welcome to attend and contribute. For more information, and details how to register, go to http://www.zerocarbonnow.org/whatnext/
Sunday 17th of February: Student Climate Project planning gathering
All welcome to come along!
Like all our planning gatherings, all are welcome and everyone has an equal say. Come along to this is you're keen to get involved in the future of the Student Climate Project's work. We are always open to new proposals for projects, and much of the gathering will be putting together our second event on the 11th of April in Roehampton.
For more details on the location and timings of this planning gathering email process@studentclimateproject.org.uk
We hope to see as many people getting involved as possible, and look forward to seeing you there!
Together we'll make this movement grow!
