Dragged naked from her room in Yarl's Wood IRC
A Jamaican detainee with her three young children currently in Yarl's Wood IRC were subjected to what was described by fellow detainees as a horrifying removal attempt last Monday ; she was in her room with her children, when guards entered the room at 7.30am and dragged her naked from the room into the corridor and placed into a wheel chair and took her to reception. Other detainees witnessed this event. The woman and her children were said to have been put into different vans and driven to the airport to board a 12.30 flight. The detainees who witnessed the event contacted outsiders, who, on being given the facts, contacted the woman's mother in Manchester and suggested she contact her MP, Tony Lloyd, who immediately got involved and stayed the removal.
