"Drum Them Out!" at Menwith Hill - Say No to "Missile Defense"

Along with the proposed bases in Poland and Czech, Bush plans to use Menwith Hill and Fylingdales advanced intelligence and radar stations as part of the Missile Defense system. Also known as Son of Star Wars, after the project's origins under Reagan in the 80's, this is really a progression of American military dominance of Earth and space. Russia has interpreted it as a new cold war, a new arms race and as a series of aggressive moves to which it will respond "asymmetrically".
At noon on Saturday October 13th join us at the main gates at Menwith Hill to DRUM THEM OUT! Please bring your drums!
Speakers will include Hilary Wainwright, editor of Red Pepper, and MP Jon Trickett. With music from Daftasadrum and the Honey Drummers. Food will be provided by the Rhubarb Tartlets. There will be a guided tour of the perimeter.
Menwith Hill base is on the A59 15 minutes outside Harrogate.
Part of a week of international protest called for by the Global Network Against Nuclear Weapons and Power in Space ("Keep Space for Peace")
