Second Feminist Fightback conference, UEL, October 20
Feminist Fightback | 22.08.2007 17:13 | Gender | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements | London
Back for a second year, the Feminist Fightback activist conference will take place on Saturday 20th October 2007 at the University of East London. Fightback is organised by a group of socialist feminists, including activists from the Education Not for Sale network. It aims to bring together feminists from a wide range of perspectives to debate ideas and develop practical strategies for fighting sexism and exploitation. Fightback 07 will build on the success of last year’s conference, attended by over 220 people, which gave rise to several activist initiatives, including the Torch-Lit March for Abortion Rights that took place in March 2007.
This year will continue our campaign to defend and extend abortion rights and will also include workshops on eco-feminism, sex trafficking and migration, equal pay and class struggle, feminism and Islam, attitudes to pornography and much, much more.
Feminist Fightback is officially supported by the National Union of Students Women’s Campaign.
