mySociety's Drinks and Democracy in Manchester Saturday, June 23,
2007; 7:30pm - 10:00pm Briton's Protection Pub, behind the Bridgewater
Hall
With the labour party leadership conference the next day, all are
welcome to join some of mysociety in the Briton's Protection pub.
Whether your interest is helping with mySociety.org, in politics, or
just want a pint.
I'll be the guy in the black mySociety hoodie.
If you need to find out where we are in the pub (it'll probably be one
of the back rooms, or the beer garden if it's nice and open), call Sam
on 07980210746
[Dave's note: This clashes with Doctor Who!]
Sunday 24th June 11am-2pm: Brown's Coronation
There's going to be a large Stop The War Coalition rally in Manchester
for Brown's coronation. It'd be good to be there with No2ID flyers and
petition sheets, either at the coronation itself (which I presume
will be in the Midland hotel) or at the STW demo.
Details TBC on the list, but I expect that meeting at 11am at St.
Peter's Square metrolink stop would be best.
Saturday 14th July 1-3pm: Street Stall
We'll be running a Saturday afternoon stall in St. Anne's Square. The
main objectives of the afternoon will be to raise awareness among the
public, engage people in discussion about the NIR, and collect
petitions for the NO2ID petition to keep people in touch with the
campaign.
We'll meet in the square itself at 1pm to set up shop; feel free to
join us to lend a hand or just chat. You don't need any experience or
equipment, just a bit of time to spare and a friendly smile!
Wednesday 18th July 7:30-9pm: Manchester No2ID Meeting
Manchester NO2ID will be holding our monthly meeting in the upstairs
function room of the Town Hall Tavern, Tib Lane, Manchester. Sadly,
this venue is not wheelchair-accessible, please contact us if you have
accessibility needs.
The Town Hall Tavern serves reasonably-priced, good quality food until
8pm so you don't need to pop home for tea - you can even order your
meal brought up to the function room.
Sunday 22nd July 8pm-10pm: No2ID Film Night (TBC)
Manchester No2ID will be sponsoring a special movie night at the FAB
Cafe on Portland Street, Manchester on a dystopian theme. Come along
for some relaxation and entertainment.
Thursday 28th July: Taking Liberties Premiere
We will be flyering and taking petition signatures at the Cornerhouse
Cinema, Oxford Road at the Manchester premiere of the new film "Taking
Liberties".
