"Democratising Democracy" at CSSGJ

What is democracy today? How does the democracy of activists and indigenous peoples differ from the democracy of representatives, elites and business? what can we learn about democracy from studying the margins of contemporary society?
CSSGJ is pleased to welcome Giorel Curran a researcher and activist from Griffith University, Australia for the last open seminar of the current academic year. The title of her talk is 'Democratising Democracy: Views from the Jungles and Margins" in which she explores themes from her new book "21st Century Dissent: Anarchism, Anti-Globalization and Environmentalism".
The talk takes place on MONDAY 23 April from 5pm to 6.30pm in the Delta Suite of the University Staff Club, Main campus, Nottingham University.
