"Unfortunately this report is factually inaccurate. As we explained to the media yesterday (whose coverage npower welcomes even if it contains criticisms) there is absolutely NO prohibition from conducting protests or demonstrations 'within half a mile of the lake'. We would never have asked for this. This must be a confusion over a clause which prevents people from setting up a camp or tents within half a mile, but for the avoidance of doubt: people have every right to protest and far be it from us to try to stop them. People were making their point within yards of the lake yesterday on the Byway Open to All Traffic that runs adjacent to it.
All the injunction is designed to do is prevent trespassing on our property and harrassment of people just trying to do their job. The vast majority of people just want to make their feeligs known, but you may know there have been some arrests at the site.
We know people have strong feelings about this and they have every right to make those feelings known. No doubt this comment will prompt further debate, but I hope this at least clarifies the facts of the matter."
