And the Iranian Mortar Story Keeps Growing

Kurt Nimmo | 15.02.2007 22:15 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Terror War | World

Why is it that apparently, the only arms of Iranian military contractors who don’t have a website in Arabic or Farsi are those whose products are the target of American accusation? Something is afoot, yet I know not what…

From There’s No Such Thing as a Blog:

The following is another subsidiary of Iran Defense Industry Organization:

 http://ieimil.com/ar_sa/main.aspx

Notice anything? Right, it’s in Arabic (or Farsi, I can’t tell the difference)! How sensible, what with those being the local tongues and all. They also have an English site:

 http://ieimil.com/main.aspx

Now, don’t get me wrong, English is indeed the lingua franca of international commerce, but as I mentioned in the post below, it seems MIGHTY peculiar that a defense contractor doing business with a great many Arab nations would have information on their products in Arabic. And indeed, the electronics arm of that contractor does advertise their wares in Arabic, but the munitions arm doesn’t?

But Wait! There’s more!

This is the website for the Iranian Marine Industries Group:

 http://www.irmig.ir/

Again, the page is in Farsi AND Arabic, in addition to English, just as one would expect.

Why is it that apparently, the only arms of Iranian military contractors who don’t have a website in Arabic or Farsi are those whose products are the target of American accusation? Something is afoot, yet I know not what…

[…]

Why is the Iranian Ammunition Industries Group’s webpage in English?

 http://www.iramig.ir/Products/Mortar%20Bombs.htm

Moreover, why is the page of their parent organization in English?

 http://www.diomil.ir/en/home.aspx

Stranger still, why does the Farsi version of the site look like this? Under Construction? Something smells funny here, and I don’t think it was the toast I just burnt.

 http://www.diomil.ir/fa/home.aspx

Finally, the Arabic version of the site also doesn’t exist.

 http://www.diomil.ir/ar/home.aspx

Now for what possible reason would an Iranian company have a website in English but not in their native language, nor in the language of the majority of their neighbors? It makes no sense!

Googling the names of each of these registrants proved mostly fruitless, save for one telling find: Omoor Beynolmelal

Apparently, Mr. Omoor Beynolmelal is also the registrant of the following website as well:  http://www.qodstv.ir/

Notice that it’s in Farsi, and is a vastly more complex page than this:  http://www.diomil.ir

Also, notice that he has an English version of  http://www.qodstv.ir/ at the following URL:

 http://www.qodstv.ir/en/index.php

Clearly, the lack of a Farsi version of this page  http://www.diomil.ir simultaneous with the existence of a Farsi version of this page  http://www.qodstv.ir/ indicates that something is going on here.
