First Encounter of the Zapatista Communities with the Peoples of the World

At this encounter the zapatista communities will speak on the experiences we have had these past years with our autonomous governments; the challenges and problems that we have faced constructing this ant-capitalist project and we will try to, with humility and respect, to respond, speak and exchange, and above all, share our errors and stumbling, and also our modest achievements.

It is time to organize ourselves and to see how together, we will confront this evil that is Neoliberalism and which attacks humanity.

Done by the five Juntas de Buen Gobierno with the themes of; What does it mean to govern autonomously? What are the challenges? What does autonomy mean for the zapatistas? What does it mean to command by obeying? Challenges and Horizons.

How does the autonomous zapatista education function? What has been its process? What problems has it faced? What has been the experience of alternative education in other communities around the world?

2nd Workshop: The Other Health
How does the zapatista health care system function? What challenges does it face? What have been its achievements? What have been its difficulties? Other experiences of alternative health care systems around the world.

3rd Workshop: Women
The struggle for equality. The challenges and obstacles that indigenous zapatista women face. How does a women zapatista live in her community? Women and autonomy. Their modest achievements and horizons.

4th Workshop: The Other Communication, The Other Art and Culture
Networks and places of encounter. The zapatista lessons, the limitations of their

communications. Insurgente Radio, creators of autonomous videos, community radios, art, culture and communication in the resistance all over the World.

5th Workshop: The Other Commerce.
The zapatista cooperatives. Experiences of cooperatives and alternative commerce around the world. Challenges, problems and horizons.

6th Workshop: the struggle for Land and Territory
The land is for those who work it. Possession of land, agrarian distribution, recuperated lands, harassment for those lands, problems of limits and boundaries. The zapatista experience. Experiences of struggle and defense of land and territory all the world.
