Faslane 365 is civil resistance project focused in Scotland to apply critical public pressure for the disarmament of Britain's nuclear weapons by a continuous peaceful blockade of the Trident base at Faslane.

To make this happen, groups and organisations from Scotland, England, Wales, and beyond, have been invited to come and shut down the base for at least one two-day period each during the twelve month period, from 1st October 2006 to the end of September next year.

A Faslane 365 group from Greater Manchester has been set up, and we'll be mobilising to cover a 48 hour period on Tues 7th and Wed 8th November 2006.

We're a diverse group, and hope to bring in people from lots of different networks to be involved in our blockade. Ideas so far include having a family block, a Greenham Grannies block, a Free at Last block, an arty action block and so on. It would be fantastic to get lots of different affinity groups to be part of the Manchester contingent.

We need people willing to do the blockade, of course, but also will need lots of other help, with such as legal observing, court and prison support, press work, food, accommodation and other logistics.

We will provide training for anyone interested in getting involved.

The core group will meet monthly on the secondTuesday of the month at 7pm in the Basement, 24 Lever St. Anyone is welcome to come along and help us organise. We will have a big public meeting on 4th October, and an information and training day on Saturday 21st October.
