This was just one of the examples used to describe the extraterritorial nature of the US blockade in a forum that took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and transmitted via internet by the www.cubaminrex.cu and www.cubavsbloqueo.cu websites.
The forum received messages of solidarity and correspondence from cybernauts from around the world. One of these was from Ndaniso Banda, of Zambia, who inquired about the extraterritorial commercial sanctions of the blockade.
Cuban Foreign Trade Minister Raul de la Nuez replied with the Dresser Rand example and pointed out that this company has been fined $171.3 USD by the US Treasury Department.
The forum also discussed: new restrictions by the White House in its latest attempt to intensify the blockade, Cuban cooperation and assistance in the Third World, the European Union’s position on the US blockade against Cuba, and the measures being taken to counteract the adverse affects of this US policy.
