Manuel Pereira Bravo, from Angola - found dead at Yarl's Wood, 15th September 20
Home Office figures released earlier this year show that across the detention estate, there was one serious attempt at self-harm every 36 hours.
An inquest into the death of Kenny Peter takes place today. Inquests for Manuel Pereira Bravo and Sergey Barnuyck are due to take place in the next four weeks.
Peter Kenny, from Nigeria - Inquest 11th September at *West London Coroners Court - died in hospital on 7 November 2004 after throwing himself from the third floor at Colnbrook IRC.
Manuel Pereira Bravo, from Angola - Inquest 19th September at **Bedford Coroners court, found hanged at Yarl's Wood IRC on 15 September 2005.
Sergey Baranyuk, from Ukraine - Inquest 9th October at *West London Coroners Court, a Ukrainian asylum seeker found hanged in Harmondsworth IRC on 19 July 2004. Sergey's death sparked a 17 hour-long disturbance that lead to the closure of Harmondsworth for several months.
