Support AirportWatch - demand a rethink! of aviation policy

Three years ago, the Government set out a massive programme of airport expansion to cater for a near trebling of air passengers by 2030. If they bear fruit, these proposals will
- wreck the UK's climate targets: aviation is on course to take up ALL the CO2 we can 'safely' emit in the next 30-40 years
- expose another 200,000 people to unacceptable levels of noise (despite a promise to reduce the number from the current half a million...)
- worsen congestion and air pollution around airports, with several new roads and road widenings proposed
- destroy acres of ancient woodland and other green belt sites as well as numerous historic buildings.
This year, the Government is due to "report progress" on these policies, but we say nothing less than a total rethink! will do.
