are NUJ journalists are taking a hard anti strike line against firefighters in Hertfordshire by publishing pro Goverment anti strike soundbite articles ?
NUj journalists are taking a hard anti strike line against firefighters in Hertfordshire by publishing pro Government anti strike
sound bite articles, the firefighters feel they no longer have a choice but to withdraw the labour they provide to protect the
public from sweeping cuts to services which would see many villages have it's response time to a persons reported house fire
from under six minutes for the first engine and 9 for a second to at least 14 minutes for the first and up to 21 for a second if the
second pump is available.
If a primary response engine is taken on another incident, then it could be at least 21 minutes before a fire engine could reach
your home in the event of you or your family becoming trapped by fire or trapped in a road collision as opposed to 9 minutes
now or at the most 14 in the event of your local fire engine been elsewhere.
These cuts will not provide any benefit to the people, the goverment will not give you your tax back they have saved, it's your fire service.
You must support the firefighters rights to have a fair chance at saving lives and reject these cuts to appliances and jobs !
Im a attempt to smear and intimdate firefighters the government have refused to use army cover or even local airforce base appliances instead
using senior past the sell by date fire officers, some of whom have never actually worn a set of breathing apparatus.
The question is this, Will the NUJ support the need for solidarity with the striking firemen and place the blame if a major fire
wreaks havoc at the door of the government for failing to provide cover, or have they become a branch of the Blairite machine.
Only 2 appliances are reported to be covering the entire population of over 1 million people tonight .
