The Stop the War Coalition has already announced that its next national demonstration will therefore come to the North West, and that it will be rallying its forces in Manchester on Saturday 23rd Sept.

It will therefore be easier for a mass turnout for many local anti-war groups from around the region than for previous national anti-war marches held in London.
It would be good to support this demo, and also any further protests over the following five days that the conference may also provide a focus for.
There are many reasons people will want to turn out and oppose what Blair and Browns Labour Party is doing in government, from their attack on workers pension rights, their continual bloody wars or their spinning of new nuclear power as the answer to climate change!
Many social movements such as those against war, capitalism and racism - and for the environment, workers rights and global justice could come together. This could even become a five day carnival of protest and resistance which strengthens and unites social movements and struggles from across the region.
So lets start early! Perhaps its already time we started thinking about what we are going to do! Like fund-raising parties and gigs for transport and publicity for a start, and then building up a groundswell in general?
