Arriving for the day shift today, John Atherton, 42, from Wallasey, said: "I've got three kids and my wife is pregnant.
"If I lost my job I would lose my home. We are disappointed and depressed because we have bent over backwards and worked really hard to improve quality and production and this is what we get."
