The DVD will start with a short intro film which would act as a teaser for the rest of the films and promote the concept and practice of indymedia UK. There isn't a suitable video already in existence but there are a few which could provide a starting points. Anyone fancy talking this on?
In keeping with indymedia's open publishing ethos all of the videos submitted will be published (as long as they satisfy the spirit of the IMC-UK publishing guidelines). They will be transcoded into Xvid and placed on the DVD in a data folder accessible by all computers. Only about an hours worth of the most screenable videos will be encoded as actual full quality DVD video.
Submission Guidelines
Films should be around five minutes long (no longer than 10 minutes)
Films should contain footage shot this year and (2006)
Films should avoid copyright material (excepting fair use obviously)
Films should be licensed as copyleft / creative commons sharealike

In order to allow campaign groups to use the DVD's for fund raising on stalls, anyone submitted films must agree that the videos will be distributed without the non-commerial clause of Creative Commons.
Free copies of the DVD could also be sent around to the social centres for screening or better still, the local indymedia collectives could organise an event/screening at their nearest social centre and sell or take donations for the DVDs to raise local funds.
