At 7am this morning Greenpeace voluteers unfurled a banner on the roof of Morrisons' flagship store in Bradford, just 150m from their UK headquarters, with the message, 'More reasons Not to Shop at Morrisons. No1: Worst Fish Retailer' alongside a picture of a pile of 'bycatch' - the fish and other marine life caught up in fishing nets which are thrown back in to the sea as waste, dead or dying.

Shoppers seemed generally quite supportive, after being given fliers they were allowed to continue into Morrisons to carry on with their shopping.

The company agreed to meet Greenpeace ocean campaigners and after a series of meetings during the day agreed to:

* Adopt a new comprehensive sustainable seafood sourcing policy
* Stop selling dogfish and conger eel in their stores.
* Urgently review their sourcing of skate and talk to suppliers about finding sustainable alternatives.
