‘It is clear that Bristol Social Services did not serve Mr Watson well and the service failed him and his family . However, the staff named….. were not personally to blame have received a full apology. The three staff are fully supported by the City Council and myself in this very difficult and complex area of service.’
The original report by the service manger Ian Tennant upheld nine complaints against the Council, because the social workers didn’t follow any of the procedures required under the Mental Health Act when applying for and carrying out the warrant to remove Selburn from his home. These social workers failed to even attempt to contact Mr Watson or any of his family and told a judge that he was a danger to himself because he could not cope living on his own.
The report also partially upheld complaints against the police and the N.H.S. who were all involved in planning the morning raid to kidnap Mr Watson. It shows how a locum (travelling) psychiatrist, Dr Guy Undrill who only met Selburn once had such influence over these social workers, that they abandoned all the normal protocal1s for such situations.
They relayed on previous reports made on Mr Watson when he was detained at Fromeside secure hospital, because after he was released with an absolute discharge he received no 117, which is legally required after care for patients under the Mental Health Act.
The Ian Tennant report also confirms that it was the home office, who, requested this locum doctor when they became aware that Mr Watson was about to be evicted from his council house.
The BBC has already exposed how Social Services had maliciously labelled Selburn as a paedophile and even after they admit their information is not accurate, still it is being used in legal cases against Mr Watson.
Apologies cannot be excepted when the council has never explained how or why it continues to victims Selburn with false accusations resulting in more evictions.
Nor does a cheque for £250 do much in the why of compensating when it is made ‘without prejudice’ that is accepting no responsibility on behalf of the council.

Selburn Watson is a 67 year old Jamaican man who has been for the last three years living in his own makeshift accommodation on the Grovsner Rd in St. Paul’s just round the corner from the Social Services area office.
The majority of the community of St. Paul’s respect him as a ‘professor’, for his wealth of knowledge and strength of character, yet feel helpless as they watch him deteriorate out in cold.
The Council maintain him to be so dangerous none of their staff can approach him and everything has been done to help him but refuse to acknowledge their previous treatment of him.

He has lost everything because of his determination to expose the political conspiracy that continues to undermine his basic human rights and is literally dying to be proved wrong.
