we live in the Society of the Spectacle - ideas that prop up capitalism are broadcast daily by multinational and state media, often smearing our comrades in struggle - the bbc director general is appearing at the sheffield int documentary festival today - we are leafletting and intervening. come along for a bit of fun if you can.
we will be putting forward a left critique at the SIDF on Friday 14th at BBC D-G Mark Thompson's lecture 6.30pm Pennine theatre sheff hallam uni - just across from showroom cinema - come and help leaflet if you can, and then we'll be leafleting/protesting/intervening as a team on Saturday 15th at Showroom?hallam - the state media particularly, likethe BBC, will be opposed and what stands for investigative journalism today - it's nearly all crap. We call it SPIJ - a baser form of spin - State Compromised Pseudo Investigative Journalism. Come alomg and have some fun winding up TV executives and producers - the people who propagate the ideas that form the superstructural dictatorship of opinion.
