Peace picnic with coexistence
We erected the marquee in time for the lunch hour when many people came to visit it in Tavistock Square which is famous for the statue of Gandhi and for a large rock which has been placed there in memory of conscientious objectors from all over the world.
This outing of our peace tent was a pilgrimage and a celebration of International Peace Day. A video of the event and the marquee will be on show at the Ashmolian next year. The making of the tent brought together women from many countries and has created better ‘coexistence’ since the war in Iraq started. We are all united for peace.
