just heard the latest on UK atomic weapons establishment's plans to start building a new laser facility. second round of planning process went on public record today and also was announced that german co zander's - uk office in chippenham - got the £20m contract for design and build from 22 August 2005. planning process will run for next 13 weeks.
In the meantime AWE helpfully published a sales contact. So, anyone wishing to drop them a line about purchasing the nuclear weapon of their choice (available in a range of models, colours, yields, etc), should contact...

no doubt there will be some sensible news from anti-nuke campaigners about the laser thingy, with ideas for action etc - what people can do to oppose it (and the rest) - in the next few days.
