Armed coppers infringe the regulation for the University asylum and shoot against anarchist comrades. One comrade wounded. Greek politicians were kept as hostages within University for several hours after the comrade was shot by the policeman-security guard. The government intervened sending units of special police forces that attack the occupiers with lachrymators. After several hours of negotiations among the occupiers, the politicians and the dean, the anarchists’ demands were met and the hostages were released. So, the dean responded to the demands of occupiers by: announcing publicly that they condemn the presence of armed policemen within University, announcing the name of the policeman who opened fire, and make secure the occupiers’ exit of the building.
“DENUNCIATION
Today, the 10th of May, minutes before 9.30pm, anarchist comrades who were in the National Metsoveio Polytechnic, we saw 2 armed coppers in the yard of the University. They were guards of two members of the Parliament and of PASOK party: Christos Verelis and Vaggelis Venizelos who at the time were giving a speech in terms of a book presentation in the Ginis building of the University. In an effort to move the armed policemen off, one of them-who according to Verelis is called Christoforos Patsias- opened fire now in the air and then against comrades within the courtyard of the University. One comrade received a shot wound in his leg. In turn, MAT (armed police forces) encircled the University and started throwing lachrymators. At the moment, other armed policemen-guards were within the yard.
Accomplice in the attempted murder by the police are state officials who entered policemen in the University.
