NCPM tries to bar public access

Recently two members of the public tried to gain access to the new bar in the former National Centre for Popular Music which has now been converted into the most expensive Student Union building ever in the UK/Europe/Planet Earth. Their legitimate right to use this public building was prevented by the bouncers because "they were not students".
The two upstanding Sheffield citizens stood their ground and argued the case that as the NCPM had been paid for with Lottery players money then they had a right to gain access to *their* building.
There was a stand-off with the bouncers not allowing in the two would-be bar-goers.
A passing policeman was then called over to adjudicate and the NCPM were forced to *back down* and let the public in as it is a condition of the remit of the NCPM/Union building that it is openly accessible to Sheffield citizens and visitors.
Hurrah - a victory for justice and common sense!
