Published since 1936, Peace News has been produced in a range of formats and frequencies, but has always maintained its political commitment to nonviolence and radical social transformation in pursuit of a more peaceful and just world. The current move to monthly production is a direct response to the need to affirm and strengthen the British peace movement and to act as a truly independent space where the voices of our diverse and energetic community can be heard.

Speaking prior to the launch, PN editor Ippy D said:

- "Peace News is returning to its rightful place - at the heart of the British peace movement. And we will be working hard over the coming year to engage with the broad peace and anti-war movements and the wider community.”

**What's inside?**
Highlights of the February 2005 issue include:

- Frontpage news story highlighting the start of on-site work to develop Britain's nuclear weapons factory, and the response of anti-nuclear activists and campaigners;
- Comment and analysis pieces on the paradoxes of the "Save the Scottish Regiments" campaign, the prognosis for "self-assembly" and the Northern Ireland peace process and a look at disability discrimination and the hypocrisy of the courts system;
- Love your enemy ... everyone can change. Working on the good nonviolence principle that "everyone can change”, a new "love your enemy" column - in which those ripe for redemption get their sins exposed - profiles new boy on the block Home Secretary Charles Clarke

**PeaceNews online**
In conjunction with the launch of the tabloid, a new series of web features and a websubscription system also go live on 1 February at PeaceNews online. As well as existing news, events and resources sections, a private area containing additional features and reviews will be available to all subscribers and also as a standalone “websubscription”. All subscribers will also receive additional discounts in the PeaceNews online webshop and have access to private unmoderated discussion fora.
