Leading to the Conviction of an Animal Abuser
at Oxford University
Following yesterday's news story that Oxford University have been investigated by Thames Valley Police over an allegation of abuse against a primate being used for vivisection, SPEAK are taking the highly unusual step of offering the sum of £1000 for any information that will lead to the conviction of people in Oxford University involved in the systematic abuse of animals. (posted 14 Nov 2004) Read more...
Denied access by police to the information contained in the report, SPEAK have been forced to take these measures because of failure by both the CPS and Thames Valley Police to implement criminal proceedings against the vivisectors responsible for the suffering of the animal in question.
The handling of the case by both the CPS and Thames Valley Police comes as no surprise, given their past record in refusing to bring charges against a builder of the New Lab for criminal behaviour against elderly animal rights protestors.
SPEAK would welcome any information that could be used either to force the police to investigate this matter further, or - as is more likely given their previous track record - to enable us to bring a private prosecution against those committing criminal acts against animals behind the walls of Oxford University.
Please help us to bring to justice those who feel they are above the law. We can be contacted on the telephone numbers on the contacts page.
