The night of the packs : an international underground party the 10.30.04

We, artists, performers, tribes from the Free Art, we have been undergoing police repressions, abusive laws, the pressures of cultural industries and capitalist economy for a long time.

To denounce these intolerable pressures, we declare the weekend of October 30th will be « the night of the packs ».

One night so that everybody will demonstrate his know-how and creativity in the dark, an international underground night !

Let 10 000 spots joyfully illuminate and fertilize the cultural aridity !

Artists ! Performers ! Rockers, punks, jazzmen, rastas, rappers, classicists, baroques ! Actors, jugglers, circus people, video performers, men of arts & letters ! Activists of all kinds, of all origins, of all (in)disciplines !


We need you.

The Night of the wolf packs originates from techno movement and free party, but we believe in the necessity and urgency of a convergence of all fights and energies.

Because a unique thought for masses runs counter to the cultural diversity we defend.

Because culture is not a consumer product and because profitability should not apply to it Because the security drifts gag our events, changing culture into terrorism.

Because the cultural policies fund an official art, censoring any alternative with money and because this is a form of exclusion that we refuse.

Because the politicians don’t listen to the culture, too much scattered in a thousand of fragments to constitute an electoral force.

And because all things considered, we are the proper actors as far of our policy as of our culture

Let’s prove our commitment in demonstrating that our events, keeping a human size and far from being dangerous, are the implementation of our liberty of expression and of our creative glows.

Let’s demonstrate our diversities by a thousand of events in a same night, preserving our own cultural identities AND bound together in our demands

On the 30.10.04, there will be wolf packs everywhere in Europe !

No big crowds no masses, just myriads of small mobile and responsive groups everywhere !

To the heavy logic of the gnus and elephants, we will oppose the rebellious and carnivorous spirit of the wolves ! Thousands of small events will highlight together the same night !

This is the hunting method of the wolf packs against the compact strategies of the security order.


What can you do concretely ?

That’s simple : Arrange scenes during the weekend of the 30.10.04, arrange some everywhere, just see that none of the events you organize need to be agreed by the Authorities, manage it so that less than 250 persons will attend them.

In France, we decided to express ironically our participation to the wolf pack night by sending a notification to the Authorities (see the page “Déclaration en préfecture”).

Be autonomous ! Create for pleasure and for the social link, not for money !
