Welcome to this, a special edition of the Voice of the Progressive Webgroup Alliance. This issue will focus purely on upcoming actions and announcements.
Tell Bush the World Says No!
-----------------------------------
To all who have assisted in promoting our online march on the White House so far, a very big thank you to you. Also a big thank you to all who have so far registered to take part in the protest, and those who will be taking part. (Whether registering or not registering to do so!)
At the time of writing this issue, there are 142 registered participants for our protest, however, we now have a pretty good estimate that at least 4-500 people will be taking part in the online march on the White House judging by feedback received from the website, as well as the rate at which people have been signing up to join with us.
The website, which you can visit at http://geocities.com/tellbushtheworldsaysno has received almost 2500 "hits" since being set up at the end of April/beginning of May, that really is excellent.
However, even though the figures so far are promising we really need to make a big final push to make sure as many people as possible know about this action. So, please help in one or more of the following ways to spread the word:
1 - Between now and the time of the action (29th August 2004 - 2PM US Central Standard Time, 7 PM UK time) please post messages to as many forums, message boards and mailing lists as possible telling people how they can join the protest. (You can find instructions at the Tell Bush the World Says No website)
2 - Wherever possible, include the web address of either the website ( http://geocities.com/tellbushtheworldsaysno ) or the Tell Bush the world says no to his agenda homepage, which is on on the LiveMarch site and where people can sign up to join the protest ( http://www.livemarch.com/marchHome.jsp?marchID=19 ) in any signatures you may use on message boards and forums between now and the 29th August.
3 - Download the leaflet advertising the action from http://geocities.com/tellbushtheworldsaysno, print out as many copies as possible and use as handouts in built up areas, colleges, work places, universities and/or places of worship.
4 - See the 2 banners advertising the online march on the White House at the website. Please feel free to use these banners wherever you can, either on any websites, or groups you may manage.
5 - Please tell as many people as possible in the "real world" about the action. It's surprising when you are talking to people how many agree with you.
6 - If your group, website, message board or mailing list is allied to the Progressive Webgroup Alliance, we do ask that people forward these newsletters to group members, or website readers, please post a copy of this newsletter whenever you can do so.
Please, in whatever way possible help us to really build this protest!! Let's turn this from what is increasingly looking like it will be a good show, to an excellent showing given our limited resources. We can all make a difference if we want to!
