Representatives of the Countryside Alliance and the Federation of Welsh Packs had earlier viewed the un-edited video footage, on which the allegations were based, with a League Against Cruel Sports (LACS) official and a journalist. The LACS representative was unable to point to evidence supporting the specific allegations of malpractice made against the hunt. LACS, however, refused to supply the un-edited footage to the inquiry team, and declined an invitation to attend the hearing.

Countryside Alliance Welsh Director, Adrian Simpson, said: "The Plas Machynlleth hunt has been totally cleared of all allegations by the inquiry panel. Whilst the hunt was suspended, over 70 lambs were killed or wounded by foxes in the area within which the hunt operates. The unedited video footage showed quite clearly that the foxes that were given to hounds were humanely destroyed with a licensed firearm. The only activity in the video footage which obviously compromised the welfare of a hunted fox was interference by the 'investigator', which LACS has admitted prolonged the hunt. It is disappointing that opponents of hunting seem less interested in animal welfare than in headline grabbing propaganda."
