(Short) Report on London March
I read on the BBC news website about the Greenpeace action described above before leaving in the morning to go on the march. Arrived at Hyde Park probably about 12:30pm.
The march started moving about 1:00pm. Various groups made up the march - both political and religious.
I believe Chris Eubank's lorry was parked somewhere along the way although I wasn't completely sure who was in the driver's seat. Arrived at Trafalgar Square at about 3:30pm. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Nigel Kennedy's amazing and evocative performance which (for me) made it easy to remember the victims of the war on Iraq and also the Spanish bombs. The sound reproduction was more than adequate for this.
After that there were speeches by amongst others George Galloway (being defiant as usual), Lindsey German from the Stop the War Coalition, Chris Eubank, Louise Christian (who is representing some of the Guantanamo Bay detainees) and Bruce Kent. There were also some speeches from the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB).
