Dungavel Removal/detention Centre 25 January 2004
. . . Lets continue to oppose the existence of this disgraceful place and let the detainees know that they are welcome in Scotland . . .
Sunday the 25th of January 2004 at 1.00pm
To support the detainees and honour the memory of Ayrshire's most famous son Robert Burns.
A man who protested against poverty, bigotry and oppression, in his own inimitable way. He was a humanitarian, libertarian and equalitarian with a great sense of humour which he expressed in his writing. A man whom we feel would wholeheartedly have supported this campaign against refugee detention.
Ayrshire Friends Of Refugees gatherings are peaceful protests and all are most welcome. As a group we oppose the Nationality Immigration and Asylum bill, including the detention of those who seek refuge in this country. We seek to improve the quality of life of those who are detained or released from Dungavel.
Please do come along, we look forward to seeing you all on the 25th.
All Welcome - Bring Banners - Also Shortbread and Biscuits to hand in.
