Contact your Israel Travel Specialist for holiday ideas and the latest
deals or see www.go-israel.co.uk the website of the Israel Government
Tourist Office.
2. Buy Israeli goods: Israel’s economy has been very badly hit by the current situation. Buy Israeli goods at shops and supermarkets here and buy online directly from Israel – go to www.shopinisrael.com for a directory. When you travel to Israel, fly with the national airline, EL AL. Contact your travel agent or EL AL on 020 7957 4100.
3. Write to your MP:
MPs take very seriously personal letters from constituents. Write to your MP with your concerns or support for their stance on Israel, or their Party’s stance. Send your letter to your MP at House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA.
Click here for contact details of key MPs or go to www.parliament.uk/commons/lib/lists.htm for a directory of MP3.
4 Support organisations working in Israel:
Make a donation to one or more of the many organisations and charities doing valuable work in Israel. A list of some of them can be found here.
5. Equip yourself with the facts:
Go beyond the limitations and bias of the British media and become better informed about the situation in Israel.
Visit the official Israeli Government site www.mfa.gov.il/mfa and in this country, you should look at the BICOM site www.bicom.org.uk
6. Monitor media coverage and react:
Keep an eye on broadcast media and the press for biased and unfair reporting on Israel.
Write letters to newspapers, ring up phone-ins and call broadcasters. Click here to learn how to complain.
7. Make contact with individual Israelis:
Go to www.walk4israel.com to find out about Project Embrace, which twins schools and synagogues with families of recent victims.
You can also write a letter to boost the morale of an Israeli soldier.
Write to Letter to Soldier, POB 92,
Jerusalem 91000, Israel,
or fax 00-972-2-621-6133/6214,
