Dear Comrades,
It was with great joy that we were informed of the news of your recent release with no monetary bail.
You are finally out of the greek prisons, but not due to the good will of the government of this country. The mobilization of many people across the world and your countries of origin was required, people who were protesting against your unfair arrest, against the fake charges (that could not be validated by the general attorney), as well as your terrorization and inhumane treatment by the police. In order for you to get out of jail it was necessary to take the decision of being fed with nothing but dignity, starting a hunger strike that lasted more than 50 days.
We aren’t happy that you were forced to use the most extreme of ways to protest against your unfair detention. We aren’t happy that your health is now bad and your young bodies are weak. But we are happy that you are free. You now need to take care of your health and get strong, stronger we mean, as the struggle for your wholesome freedom hasn’t ended yet. It depends on the trial, a trial the greek government wants to use to present you as criminals.
Like all neo-liberal governments, the greek one also outlaws social movements and social protests. The governors as always consider the struggles for freedom and justice to be crimes. For them, every critique and protest against neo-liberalism is a crime similar to “terrorism”. They become full with fear and panic when they see that it is thousands and millions of us who, together with you, say in all places and all languages: “Enough is enough! Another world is possible and necessary!”
Dear 7, Suleiman, Fernando, Carlos, Simon, Spyro, Michali and Dimitri:
Please accept each one of you our solidarity hug: 7 hugs that demand your full, without restrains and instant freedom.
In brotherhood
Freedom!
Justice!
Democracy!
