Charlotte Parker, a Cambridge care worker, will be departing on her pilgrimage to a GM free Britain at dawn on the 10th of October. Explaining her motivation for taking part in the pilgrimage, Charlotte Parker said:
“Companies producing GM food are motivated by financial gain. There are several companies in Cambridge involved in genetic modification, Monsanto, Bayer and Syngenta. As I live in Cambridge, I feel I have a duty to take part in this walk. I hope that as many people will join me in London for the GM rally on Monday 13 October.”
Martin Haggerty, who is walking from Scarborough through Cambridge, and Charlotte are two of 20 Pilgrims who will be traveling to London by
foot, tractor and bike from all corners of the UK including Inverness and Pembrokeshire to demonstrate their deep opposition to GM crops. Their journeys are taking place in the weeks leading up to October 13th, when they will join hundreds of other people in London for the Tractors and Trolleys Parade against GM.
