In June of this year, the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign declared the
9th of November
(the day the Berlin Wall fell) as the
International Day against the Wall
On this day, organizations, networks and individuals are called to mobilize against this latest crime against the Palestinian people.
This call comes from tens of community based, grassroots organizations and NGOs that continue to join the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign, initiated in October 2002 by the Palestinian Environmental NGOs Network (PENGON) and its 21 NGO member organizations based in the Occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip. The Campaign is the only Palestinian led effort of its kind, and has gained great momentum in Palestine through its active involvement in supporting communities to remain on their lands, facilitating local and national organizing, and international solidarity.
The call for the International Day against the Wall has already had great response and organizations and movements worldwide have begun to organize for this day. In order to promote this day of action, the Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign is asking you to sign and disseminate the petition you will find below, put out in search of worldwide solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people against the Wall and for justice and freedom.
Please sign this statement in solidarity with our efforts.
