TWO NATIONS DIVIDED, TWO CONQUERED AND A WORLD THATS SICK OF BUSH AND BLAIR

Dorothy Seese | 14.06.2003 18:26

What a legacy for the Bush regime in only two and a half short years!

Two sovereign nations, however brutal, have been conquered,
primarily by US forces. And two nations have been divided internally
and severed from the rest of the world as to credibility and integrity.

What a legacy for the Bush regime in only two and a half short years!

Two sovereign nations, however brutal, have been conquered, primarily by US forces. And two nations have been divided internally and severed from the rest of the world as to credibility and integrity.

Hopefully, faltering Tony Blair was well paid by the Bush cartel for his cooperation in the Gulf War II against Iraq. The US had a bit more sympathy from the world about Afghanistan, since the Taliban had made the civilized world angry prior to nine-eleven by its outrageous treatment of women and its brutality toward the Afghanis. Osama bin Laden looks the part of the perfect villain, capable of heinous acts of terrorism. But Iraq? No. There never was any evidence that linked Saddam Hussein with the events of September 11, 2001, when the Twin Towers were bombed to ashes and the Pentagon was hit by an airliner ... or something. Yes he is/was a brutal tribal dictator, but we aren't complaining about the Sudan in the US, are we? We're not "liberating" those lined up for the slaughter under that brutal regime, are we? NO.

Now, both Republicans and Democrats are questioning just how much lying has occurred, where, and to whom, in order for Mr. Bush to have his splendid little war to grab control of Iraq's oil reserves. (Oh come on, you don't believe he's concerned about brutal dictators and liberating oppressed peoples, now, do you? Really?) But we have a growing segment of the American population, perhaps prompted by the incessant hammering of the true conservatives, a large segment of Libertarians and probably the entire Democratic party about lies, more lies, and damned lies coming out of the Bush Administration and the White House cabal.

Across the Great Pond, in the UK, Mr. Blair is under increasing pressure to answer for his lying to Parliament and the British media. After all, Mr. Blair is not a conservative, he is the Labour Party's Prime Minister and supposedly of a socialist mindset. Surprise, limeys, you have an imperialist in the crowd, just as the US acquired a "conservative" president who has spent more than any liberal president and saddled the Americans, at least 6.1% of whom are unemployed, with massive debt for the taxpayers to bear. You Brits also have a mighty large Muslim population and if you don't tighten your immigration laws, you too could have the US problem of being invaded by aliens, legal or illegal, who assert they have "rights" and cause all manner of problems with the indigenous population, people who were born on your soil or came there with honorable purpose.

If indeed we are seeing the "death of the west" it is beginning with the great schism in America and the shame of Britain over a horrendously costly war, seemingly over no national security interest but rather for the control of oil reserves. With so many American automobiles running around crashing into one another, perhaps the US would be far better off with other forms of energy than petrol ... although I don't recommend the electric golf carts used here in Sun City, Arizona. I do encourage rapid investigation and research into the use of hydrogen and other alt fuels. As far as the oil companies, they'd find a way in short order to take control of solar energy if necessary ... buying the sun wouldn't daunt them in the least, and greed would blind them to the impossibility.

We've lived in a divided world for decades now, perhaps since the Tower of Babel, but never has the possibility existed for so many nations to start the conflagration that ends all future wars by exterminating the human race, or at least a major portion of it. Will such wars occur? I believe they are inevitable, given human nature and the tendency of great nations to undo themselves by their own internal red root rot. It is a fact of life that you can prove for yourself on a small scale: when one cannot control their own life, they go about trying to manage the lives of others. The same is true of nations.

America is in serious, serious financial trouble whether the media will admit it or not (and they won't). I've learned to double government statistics in any given adverse situation: if the government admits to 6.1% unemployment, then 12% is probably more accurate when one adds in the underemployed who can no longer support themselves or the family without aid, family or federal, those whose benefits have run out and are dropped from the rolls of the "unemployed" even though they most surely are unemployed, and those who have given up and gone home, if they have one.

While the US and other nations "rebuild" Iraq with billion-dollar contracts, and individuals are promised tax cuts (that does a lot of good for those who aren't able to find work) the nation itself is being torn apart by a rift larger than any I've witnessed, and that includes the Viet Nam conflict. Nam had more American protesters, but Gulf War II had about 15 million protesters world-wide. The US simply squelched protests here, taking a lesson from the 1968-70 riots over the Nam war. The object, of course, in spite of all the internet writers who are never read by the general Joe Lunchbox public, was to give the impression that all of America was behind President Bush. News flash: WE WERE NOT. We just were drowned out, ignored, or shoved aside as wild-eyed fanatics, probable terrorist sympathizers or crackpots at the keyboard.

Now the tide is turning as major media is allowing questioners of high rank to inquire into the lies proffered by the White House to the public and shoved onto a gullible and wimpy Congress. No one wanted to sound "anti-American" and Ron Paul (R. Tex.) stood alone on many occasions to oppose the wrongs he saw. He isn't alone now.

The wisest man to ever walk the earth said "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth."

The two conquered nations must be restored to home rule even if they do carry on their traditional tribal warfare. That's their culture and has been for centuries. But as to America, who will stand in the gap and re-unite the nation? If we remain this divided, and our leadership remains this disconnected from the public it is supposed to represent, when the remainder of Bush "loyalists" finally have to admit their leader lied, and lied and lied ... then who will rise to pull the American people back together as a strong but non-aggressive nation?

May I suggest Reps. Ron Paul and Tom Tancredo, working as a team, might be able to do just that? If you have other suggestions, then work with your local representatives to get something going before we hit the iceberg.

We need statesmen, not politicians. Statesmen have vision for the nation, politicians worry about the next election.

America's greatness was built on the foundation laid by men of vision who did not always agree with each other and who often "slugged it out" in debates over the best forms of government, but in the end they came up with a blueprint that has survived and served the nation well. We cannot afford to let the twits and elitists who have captured our elective offices (and thus jammed the federal payrolls with their appointees) create a wound so grievous it cannot be healed short of a second revolution, although we are close to that point.

America, heal thyself ... then lead the world by example and not by force.
