A Poetic Prayer for Peace
Thomas Graham | 31.03.2003 11:17
A poetic prayer for peace that the countless victims of American economic and military aggression around the world unite in forgiveness and prayer for what they have suffered in the hope America might be healed of the mass psychosis sweeping their society.
O Lord give me a humble heart, that I may serve
My fellow man, with vim and verve
Give me a mind, as sharp as steel
And place on my heart, your heavenly seal
Let me envision, angels with harps
And not gossiping frows, who spread malice and carp
Let me be an instrument, of your inner peace
That wars, strife, evil - are banished and cease
May my eyes be fixed, on your heavenly skies
As stairwells of marble, become fashioned by
Angels and seraphs - archangels too -
Descending on clouds, of the heavenly doo
People, dear people - there’s much to do
These days are fleeting, the harvesters few
But do you not know, at the first sign of strife?
- the evils of Satan, Jack Frost with a knife -
That people will turn, back to the only one
Who can help make sense, of alls seen and done
Who can tear from our eyes, the delusional veil
- down becomes up, all that’s dark becomes pale -
The speeches of kings, with their mesmerising words
Are shown as perverse, and considerably absurd
And this when we peer through, our souls that seemed lost
In the manifold cares of, this life - this forest!
But hark! There are many, more changes afoot
(whether they’ll happen or not, is a debate that’s most moot)
The tides have much, to teach us still
About laws of nature, of His infinite will
And who can stand strong, in the breath of the fire?
As vaporous clouds - and fear - spread doth higher
As ice round Rock of Ages, begins to crack
With this rules of government, begin to change tack
Pity the folk, in countries on high
As iron eagle invades, people doth die!
Isn’t it just, the most horrendous of jokes
Coming from the land of NOIRDORDECAY, the car engines it stokes!!
Whoever said the days, of Empire were dead -
who can say that now, as Pax RµAM^ICARU rears head?
But ALL is in your hand, O Lord
Even the armies of earth, with their fire, with sword
We pray for the successor, of St Peter, the prelate
That the peace of Assisi comes now, and not too late
That rulers - jaws gaping, at St John’s eighteenth hour
Set aside selfish interest, forgive of the tower
That the victims of the bald one, the untold millions they’ve killed
Forgive in their spirit, the cup of their children be filled
And we pray that the incumbent of AWSOMTHING’s, ‘Teutunic’ office
Your real love, teachings, wisdom, scriptures diffuse
The founders mystic vision, a dragon & George don’t you know
Let it not be in vain, may its teachings help show
That the spectre of war, a most terrible thing
- harbinger of plague, disease, death - pray not the RING!
As he turns in his grave
Crying “namesake behave!”
Can we but plead, that we all fall to our knees
And not succumb to hatred, but follow the sees
Teaching of grace, humility too
In these dark, dark, dark days, these days, oh so few!
Hark! an Angel blows horn, of the heavenly host
Hither, its revealed one day, we’ll give up the ghost
But we never know for sure when our time, worlds end, heavens to come!
Å
But know this for sure, the Eternal, Immortal will outshine the sun!
