Guadalupe Rodriguez | 28.03.2003 17:57
This letter is circulating all over the world. This courageous woman (Writer and War Survivor) is humbly speaking to President Bush
Please,do something positive with it! we can not ignore this genocide, we are also part of this world. Don't let one more child to be killed
pass this letter on and/or print it, or post it on your site! forward it to your friends: we need to stop this war!
Mr. President,
My name is Guadalupe Rodriguez, I am a writer, mother of three, residing in the USA. I am also the author of the book “MARIANELA”, to honor Marianela Garcia Villas, former President of the Human Rights Commission in El Salvador and Vice-President of the Human Rights Commission for the United Nations. She was killed by Salvadorian troops trained and armed by the USA government when assisting hundreds of wounded civilians in a village bombarded by airplanes provided by USA.
I personally witnessed her death, and the death of thousands of innocent people that were the result of “Collateral Damage” in atrocious attacks from troops trained, financed and assisted by the government of the USA.
You, Mr. Bush, have children and parents. How would you feel coming to your neighborhood and find your daughters sliced to pieces because several of the bombs from the “Heavy Air Strikes Coalition” missed their target, and hit their community?
How would you feel if you found that your elderly parents were brutally killed along with all their senior friends because the “Military Strategy” failed and the “Selected Targets” were poor neighborhoods populated by innocent civilians.
The previous scenario would probably never happen because your family is under extraordinary security measures to protect them from the “Forces of Evil” that may attempt to take their lives. Also, this would never happen due to your father being a former president of this country and therefore protected for life. Despite that he is responsible for the most unthinkable massacres that occurred during his stay in the White House.
He should be in jail for murder paying for the crimes he owes to humanity in different parts of the world.
How did you feel this morning? After knowing that hundreds of children in Iraq are wounded, dead or orphaned because of your arrogance and ambition on Iraq's oil profits.
The results of war are beyond description Mr. Bush and no Political Analyst has the smallest idea of how appalling it is to embrace dozens of wounded children and see them suffer and slowly die because the injuries caused by the bombardments were too severe to be cured by simple procedures, and because they were hiding in a place far away from a hospital, or the hospital was also destroyed by the same bombardments during this senseless, criminal, unilateral invasion.
The results of war Mr. Bush are inexpressible and no Political Advisor of yours will ever have the faculty to anticipate how devastated it is to witness endless tears in hundreds of children eyes, looking in horror how their parents are losing their last speck of breath because a “Guided Missile” hit the refuge where they were hiding from the military forces that targeted them as the “Enemy of Freedom” or the anguish in their mother’s soul, watching in consternation, sadness and helplessness how their young sons and daughters are losing their lives because your “Shock and Awe Campaign” is making progress in shaking the enemy’s morale by bombarding entire neighborhoods.
War is hideous Mr. Bush, and no Press Secretary in your administration will ever have the ability to clearly broadcast the anguish of hundreds of innocent people being attack by powerful machines and weapons of mass destruction entering their city with arrogance and thirst for blood.
War is terrible Mr. Bush, Schools, Hospitals, Community places, Farms, Playgrounds, Parks and hundreds of other locations that should be sacred for humanity are being destroyed by your “Broad Air Campaign” of bombs and missiles reaching anything and everything peacefully resting on the ground.
War is frightening Mr. President, kids in Iraq need food, medicines, school supplies, clothes and protection. Your “Disarmament of Sadam Hussein” is killing their hopes for the future, is damaging them psychologically for life, is humiliating their being, and is destroying their resources.
I hope that in your meetings with the members of your “Coalition Enduring Freedom” you’ll discuss the tragedy awaiting hundreds of innocent Iraqis and how difficult it will be for them, to leave behind all what they posses and look for protection in nearby countries where they will suffer and starve because, a group of sick, evil, murderers are planning in detail how they will destroy their city. Like father like son, Mr. Bush, you have to finish what your father could not.
War is a crime Mr. Bush, and YOU should be accountable for all the crimes that right now are being committed in Iraq. Such a criminal shouldn’t be free
How will you sleep in the days ahead? How can your soul be at peace knowing that your order of attacking a third world country have killed innocent lives and caused destruction, pain and devastation to entire families that have lost their loved ones because YOU, your Vice-President, and your corporations and partners in crime have engaged in a savage crusade to show your military supremacy to the world, despite overwhelming opposition around the globe.
How can you eat your next meal, sleep, hug your wife, daughters and loved ones knowing that at the same time, other daughters, wives, and loved ones are being killed by your weapons of mass destruction?
How do you Asses the damage? By how many children are dead? By how many refugees fled their country? By how many women lost their newborn babies because of lack of proper care, due to your “Operation Freedom attacks.” By how many of the dead won’t have proper funerals because entire families are slain or the survivors had to leave them behind and run away to protect their own lives. By how many miles, thousands of Iraqi women with their young children must walk to cross the nearest border? By how many meals children will have to skip because there is insufficient food available.
By how many schools and hospitals, were destroyed by your missiles?
What do you take in consideration deciding what is appropriate or not, when attacking a country where 50% of the inhabitants are under the age of 15 years old?
Who do you think you surprise with your “Surprise attacks?”
Let me tell you: You will surprise thousands of little boys and girls that don’t understand war but fear it.
You’ll surprise: thousands of babies that will abruptly wake up howling in the middle of explosions, and those around them will be unable to calm them down because they will be paralyzed by terror. You’ll surprise: thousands of frail elderly citizens to weak to mobilize themselves for protection, away from the violence.
You will surprise: thousands of young boys and girls that should be in school, but instead, they are hiding, holding their breaths, with shaken spirits and crushed souls because, they are so frightened by the sound of the brutal explosions taking place all over the city. You will surprise: Mother Nature and all the living creatures that will be pulverized by your bombardments.
You will surprise live with death Mr. Bush, and that’s an unforgivable SIN! Someday, somehow you must pay for it!
I hope, that sooner than later: You will be surprised! to discover that YOU Mr. Bush and your closest allies and members of your entire Cabinet are the most repudiated Terrorist Entities in the whole world.
If indeed Democracy exists in the USA you wouldn’t be attacking Iraq. You wouldn’t even be the President of the United States.
If indeed Democrats were democrats they wouldn’t be overwhelmingly supporting such an outrageous act of slaughter against humanity in Iraq, they will be instead working harder to end the economic crisis that face the majority of the people in this country. Billions of dollars have been robbed from Social Services, Public Health, Education, Housing, Social Security, etc. and wasted into a Defense Department that is afflicting, oppressing, tyrannizing and jeopardizing the peace and stability of the entire world.
What “Coalition of the Willing” is willing to “Disarm The United States” and “Monitor Very Closely” that they will never use their “Weapons of Mass Destruction” against any country in the entire world?
What “Coalition of the willing” will investigate countries that under your support and approval, slaughter communities that the world seems to have forgotten, even though the murders occur on an every day basis with extreme barbarity.
As a war survivor I have the MORAL obligation to speak about the agonizing pain war causes to humans. Media people call it: “USA at war” “War with Iraq” etc. The rest of the world calls it: “AGRESSION” and I only hope that someday the voices of the world will be loud enough to stop criminals like you and your regime from attacking small nations that are thousands of miles away from your imperial terrain. I feel sorry for you and for all the people around you celebrating war, including the media people that day by day, talk with “Great Skills and Great Bravery,” camouflaging horror with beautiful colors, describing in soft voices, professional manners and impeccable presence the illusions of pre-fabricated news, polls, and investigative reports that help to maintain a corrupt system that is paying them a lot of bloody money to confuse people’s minds with the real truth. By disposing, arranging, and displaying their lies, they are ignoring the bleeding of the most profound fibers of humanity around the whole world. And they are also guilty of the crimes now being committed
God Bless you all because the real human kind, indeed, despise your existence, and their voices are getting stronger and stronger. Someday those voices will be inexorable in their quest for peace and harmony in the world.
Humbly,
Guadalupe Rodriguez

And that’s my sin.”
