a few pieces of news that don't make it to western media

- Mohammad Al-Sahaf, Iraqi minister of information and media, says that the coalition troops have not secured Umm Qasr city, but the port only.

- Al-Sahaf also denies any rebillion in Basra, and that the people of Basra have not been supressed by the Iraqi army.

-Mine Explosion in Southern Iraq: There are unconfirmed news that a mine exploded in Southern Iraq, killing at least 7 who are thought to be troops of an Arab state, the name of which has remained anonymous.
