BRING LONDON TO A STANDSTILL - FRIDAY 21ST MARCH

Top Cat | 20.03.2003 11:20

Disobedience Against War, after discussion has decided to
call for street blocking actions to physically confront
and disrupt the capitalist economy now that war has been declared. We hope this tactic spreads quickly across the country.

We need as many people as possible to get down to these events. Tell your friends, family, classmates, colleagues. And why not organise your own road blocking actions?

LET'S DISRUPT THE WAR ENGINE! SABOTAGE THE WAR EFFORT!

Friday 21st March 2003
Meet at Edgware Road Tube Station at 7am
Meet at Old Street Tube Station at 5pm

[from the leaflet]...

Capitalist power resides in their control of our
labour power and their control of the state;our
power resides in our rejection of work and in the
streets, where we live and congregate. In recent
history, direct actions have focused on disrupting
the motions of everyday life,in Reclaim the
Streets Parties,the fuel protests,anti-roads
campaigns,Maydays...By confronting power in
the streets,we see the vu! lnerability of capitalism
and the potential we possess of changing our
future by bringing this system of death and
misery to a halt.

Blocking roads in and out of commercial centres,
airports, military bases and fuel depots can have
a massive and strategic effect on the economy
and the war effort. It's also something you can do
with a few mates and a bit of imagination,or en
masse with banners and music.

++ AND TO THOSE OF YOU ON WHEELS ++

Call out to all cyclists and others mobile with no engine! Join an
anti-oil-war ride, bring your anger & humour, life & energy, to mobile blockades to slow down the pro-war economy – supporting other actions as well as acting independently. Called by some London Critical Massers, these rides will only be
effective with your support.

Tune in, turn up, make them happen.

Anti-war CM rides planned as follows:

THURSDAY 20TH MARCH:
Meet 5pm outside NFT, under Waterloo Bridge, South Bank, SE1, linking in with central London actions.
