Tea & Cucumber Sandwiches Stall

In celebration of the day of consumer chaos that is BUY NOTHING DAY, the fine chaps at NOT CRICKET decided to host another of our tea & cucumber sandwiches soirees. This involved setting up a mobile stall serving up free light snacks and wise words.

Fed up with all of this homogeneous global monoculture, serving up the same bland "frapachapachocawhatevers" the world over we decided we had had enough. Enough of our highstreets being turned into identical replicas of each other containing the same few dull multinationals, decorated with the same decor and playing the same bland instore music.

Several finely attired gentlemen attended, in order to refresh the public's taste buds and ask them to think about the dull global culture they are supporting with their shopping habits.

Armed with several trays of our finest home-made sandwiches and a suitcase full of thermos flasks and fairtrade tea, we descended upon Starbucks flagship store in Leicester Sq. In high spirits our gallant troops got down to the business of teaching the general public and the rotters at Starbucks a thing or two about light snacks and cultural diversity.

Strangely enough the management of the store obviously realised the error of their monotonous ways and hid sheepishly inside their indentikit store. Leaving us to serve up a fine spread for everyone who realised that free and tasty was a lot more interesting than expensive and bland. Leicester Sq security did turn up, however after being served a delightful beverage they left us to our mission.

Eventually all good things come to an end and our supply of hot water ran out. We headed back to our secret HQ, restocked our supplies and were out once again into the consumer madness that is Central London on a Saturday afternoon. On route to our next location we bumped into another of the BND groups who were busy chasing a giant visa card between the throngs of shoppers. With our numbers boosted and a suitcase full of delights we pulled up outside the Regents St Starbucks, conveniently situated next to a McDonalds.

"Tea not Coffee, Sandwiches not Burgers!"

Our stall was set up again, across the pavement from the two pillars of global boredom, and we did our best to educate everyone on the benefits of stopping shopping and having a nice cup of tea with us. The manager of Starbucks came out not only to shout at a lovely lady who was helping us, but also to have the cheek to turn down the drink we offered her. Thankfully she soon disapeared back into her store after seeing the amount of media we had with us.

In total we served up refreshments to dozens of satisfied passers-by, and gave the fiends at Starbucks and Co a jolly good ear-bashing. A fine days work, by a suavely dressed group of gents.
