Many Brits may not know but the Queen of England is the Queen of Canada too. This year HM QE II toured Canada and like every where she goes there is usually discussion to follow, and not always polite discussion at that. This year Deputy Prime Minister John Manley did his best to embarrass HM by saying that Celine Dion would make a better Queen and that Elvis is the King in his mind. It was amazing how in very little time John Manley went from Prime Ministerial candidate to Royal assh0!e over night.
At one Gala over in Hull, Quebec Separatist showed up to voice their opinion and at one point turned their focus from HM QE2 to English speaking people in general. There was a consensus among local Ottawa Loyalist that they wish the separatist would have announced their protests earlier so that they could "go over there and kick the $hit out of them."

Overall the Queen was met warmly by most people and adored by all. This year she decided to get a little political and voice her opinion to natives about Canada being their traditional land, which was an obvious statement regarding the governments ultra slow dealings with land claims.
