Since the ending of the communist threat, the western world under the leadership of the USA has acquired a new dominant threat, one which as significant and as deadly as the communist one. Whilst most Americans had to endure four decades of imminent Russian invasions, Russian nuclear annihilation...

In the last ten years we have had the virtual abandonment of any rules of international affairs. Essentially we have had the deregulation of corporate intersts on a domestic basis and we are now witnessing the same process on an international basis. Clinton intervened in Yugoslavia with one pretext in mind. To create a weak and dependent protectorate whose sole existence would be determined by one and only one superpower, the USA.

In order to justify the global war on 'terrorism' a new myth had to be created to replace the old one. Everyone knows Russia abandoned the world revolution with the rise of Stalin to power and everyone knows that Stalin formally dissolved the Communist International during WWII. But now we have an organisation that has appeared out of nowhere and has been given the label of this global Islamic threat, as if Islam is a political movement and not a religious one. There is no central Islamic authority much less a centre where Muslims look to unlike Russia where the totality of stalinism ensured that for decades EVERY communist party looked to Moscow for guidance and control.

But the issue at stake is why have the critical faculties of most been subsumed by this new so called terrorist threat, which is nothing else than a fabrication, pure and simple. Simply because as long as Russia existed most people listened to an alternative story regarding internbational developments. If America said there were only trained killers in Vietnam out to kill and maim good ole countryboys, Russia would condemn the invasion as imperialist. Now there is nothing on the horizon which criticises the monopoly of official events. If America says Al Quaeda exists, then it does as we have the evidence of Al Quaeda itself, the Al Jazeera news channel and plenty of eye-witnesses who know someone who knows an Al Quaeda operative. Official lies have been elevated to the role of official myths.

If the Roman Empire in its ascent hunted Christians down, during its decline it made Christiniaty a semi-official religion. America spent decades hunting communists, underbed covers, behind hidden wardrobes, in books people read and created tens of wars around the globe. Now the stalinist parties of old have been coopted, they are either in imperialist governments or giving backhanded support to neo-colonial states, in their war against terrorism.

Now suddendly everyone is passionately against terrorism , much in the same manner that in the past everyone was against communism. In such a manner, the left is preparing its own graveyard, not capitalisms. Without exposing real myths, without exposing real lies, the left disarms itself in coming avalanche as those not with captialism and its global war against terror are against it. One cannot be against terrorism and not be for captialism in the present conjucture, solely because the terrorists which the USA claims it is hunting do not exist. They are a fabrication, pure and simple.
