RENOWNED PEACE ACTIVIST JAILED
Trident Ploughshares | 03.08.2002 11:32
This occurred as Trident Ploughshares prepare for their two week long International Disarmament Camp at the nuclear weapons bases on the Clyde near Glasgow.
Already this week, Joss Garman from Mid Wales joined Karen Fallon and Stan Robinson from Faslane Peace Camp in cutting two sections of the fence at RNAD Coulport where the UK government stores it's nuclear warheads.
A spokesman for Trident Ploughshares explained, "It is particularly upsetting that as thousands upon thousands starve to death in Southern Africa at this time, our government spends £1.5 billion per year on an illegal and immoral nuclear weapons system."
Strong Resistance and frequent non-violent direct actions are expected at the bases n the next fortnight.
